Transportation

UC Davis is twenty minutes by car from the Sacramento (SMF) Airport. San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK) are also options when traveling to UC Davis. Depending on the time of day and traffic SFO is about two hours away and OAK is about an hour and a half. Airport shuttles, car rentals, public transportation, ride shares (Lyft and Uber), or taxis are readily available for all three airports. We will provide additional information closer to the conference dates. Campus parking fees are $15 per day. Additional information on visitor parking is available at Transportation Services.

Housing & Hotels

UC Davis Conference Housing offers relaxing, convenient and affordable housing services on the UC Davis campus. All accommodations are in smoke-free facilities. Standard accommodations provide either single or double occupancy in residence hall or residential suite arrangements. We will use Mahogany Hall in the Tercero Residential Area for the on-campus housing option for Computers & Writing (9 min walk to TLC). Linen, folded and placed on the bed, includes 2 sheets, 2 towels, 1 washcloth, pillow, pillowcase, blanket, (no bedspread or comforter). There is a flat, 4-night rate for on-campus housing. The single room rate is $303 per person for four nights (6/21-6/25); the double room rate is $239 per person for four nights (6/21-6/25). Meals in the residence hall dining facility will include dinner on 6/24, breakfast on 6/25 and lunch on 6/25. Continental breakfast will be available at the TLC 6/22-6/24. You may select one of the two on-campus housing options when you register for the conference. Reservations for on-campus housing may be made until 5/15.

In addition to conference housing, several local hotel options are near (or on) campus.

Conference Facilities

Conference sessions and workshops will be held in our new Teaching and Learning Complex (TLC) building. Presenters will have access to projectors, and wireless access to the internet will be available in all conference buildings. Lunches will be available in the nearby Student Community Center. The opening reception and some evening events will be held in the Alumni Center located in UCD's Gateway District Conference and near the Hyatt Place hotel.

Accessibility

Physical accessibility is addressed by using fully ADA-compliant spaces at UC Davis for all conference events. Visitors with a disabled placard/plate may park without displaying an additional permit, and may park in spaces where UC Davis DSA permits are honored. In addition, other accessibility issues indicated by participants will be addressed as the need arises by working with on-campus disability services.
